Jon & Isaac went away for the weekend to go hiking. Isaac was counting down the days till they left. Elliot didn't quite understand why he couldn't go...and even the day they left he woke up and told us - "I'm older now daddy!" Too cute. He can't wait for his turn. So Jon & Isaac headed up north with the neighbor and his son to Nordhouse Dunes. Besides the mosquitos....Isaac loved it! What a fun trip for them!

Illinois!
One of the best memories of the summer was our vacation down to Illinois! Since the trip is a pretty long drive we decided to spend the night in Champaign on the way down and show the kids where we lived and where daddy went to school. Madi, of course, was so excited to check out the U of I. You can tell by her grin! She especially loved our stop at Walmart to get her an Illini shirt with sparkles!
Here we are on campus under the new bell tower.
We found this really old tree the kids were fascinated with
By the quad
Then we had to check out the football field. We could peek through the training room all the way to the end zone....very nice!
We had a great time that night at the pool! The kids loved being able to stay up really late with mom and dad! Then we headed out early the next day to the Southern tip of Illinois to see family! All the kids did great the entire trip in the car. Here is Elliot taking a nap...so cute!
Our first stop was Aunt Ermadell's!
After that we headed out to Tim & Tammy's! Here all the Family had gathered to eat & swim! It was so good to see everyone again!

Car Wash!
So the kids had a great idea...lets have a car wash and raise money for mom and dad!?! Lately they have been asking for lots of toys and different things...and we have told them we can't just buy them everything they want. Obviously they thought if they just got more money for us we'd be able to buy them what they want...yeah..didn't quite work the way they thought...but it was a good lesson!
Papa & Grandpa even stopped by and got their car washed!

Critter Barn!
Each year the Pinery Senior Center has an ice cream social in the Summer and we love to go to it with Great Grandma & Grandpa! This year the Critter Barn was there...oh did the kids love that!
The cottage!
Every year we look forward to a weekend with the Clark's on Lake Michigan. This year the weather was perfect! We could not have asked for better! What an awesome weekend!
