Snow Day with Ethan

Wednesday was a snow day! Yeah!! This meant the neighbor Ethan was home for the day. They called and we went over for a nice break in the afternoon. The kids had a great time with play-do and Melissa and I got to have lots of time to just sit and talk. It felt so good to just hang out with an adult for the afternoon and the kids just loved playing with Ethan.

Sleepy Sunday

Isaac was pretty tired by Sunday...so Papa took him to his room to lay him down. Looks like Papa was tired from a long week as well!

Even after he woke up he laid on Jon for quite a while.

Playdate with the Mekkes crew!

Shannon had a wonderful idea to get us all together for a morning of fun. As a kid, I grew up play with the Mekkes kids...so it was fun to get our kids together like our parents used to. Shannon made a ton of wonderful food for us too eat! The kids had a great time just playing. Connor and Madi are only about 12 days apart...so it was fun to see them together again. My kids did not want to leave!

The castle was a hit.

Mason and Isaac building something together...do you remember these toys from when we were kids...I wish I knew what they were called. I loved building with them.

Girls Night & Boys Night

We decided to take a night for just the girls and just the boys! With the baby coming soon we wanted to spend some good one on one time with the kids...they absolutely loved it! We met as a family for dinner and then split off from there.
Jon took Isaac and they headed to the orange store! Any guesses.....Home Depot. I think Isaac chanted orange store the whole way. While in the store he got to ride the tractors (his favorite) and then they bought some plumbing supplies. Jon thought it would be fun to have Isaac catch one of the pvc pipes....too bad when he threw it Isaac didn't catch it and it bounced right off his forehead! Yikes! Isaac's response - "Dad, that hurt!" They also took a trip to the hobby store...and found a "flyer". It's one of those wooden sticks with a propeller on the top that flies in the air....a guy thing! He loved it of course. Then they went home for some superman ice cream!
Madi and I took off to the toy store to look at "the pink isles". We ended up finding a Holly Hobbie doll on clearance. She was very excited. Of course she had to pick one that wasn't the same as Brittyn's (neighbor). That way when they pay together they won't get confused. After that she wanted to go to Big Boy for "bessert" (dessert). I don't know why Big Boy...somehow she had that in her head...so off we went! She was very excited to get pink ice cream with whip cream and a cherry on top! On the way she told me that if the baby is a girl she could come with us next time. Yeah!
What a fun night!

Hat Sleeping

Isaac's new thing is to sleep with his hat on!!! Too funny!

Sprinkler Fun

I was looking back through some old videos and found this one. It still cracks me up. What is the fascination with sticking there butts infront of the stream. I know you all remember doing the same thing as children! This was taken back this summer when it was warm....

Dancing Kids!

Here are the kids dancing to some songs from Church. They love to turn these on and have a ball dancing!!

Celebrating my birthday with the Peuler crew!

Here are all the kids helping me open my gifts!

Then I got some nice snuggle time!

If you are wondering what I got for my birthday....we had recently been given a King bed from our neighbors (so greatful!! Its great for the extra room...especially with my big belly!)...so we needed new bedding to fit the king size bed...so this is what I got! I love it!

Here are the boys running around the living room with the kids on their shoulders. I think my dad was going to have a heart attack. Poor Mason was on the ground....luckily know one was hurt during the making of this film!

Fun with the kids

Most nights when Jon gets home from work the kids start running and jumping on him. Its really a fun sight. They get so excited that he is home and all their bundled up energy comes flying out. Usually he is laying on the floor covering his head and they are jumping on him.

Here they are all piled up!

The two snuggling!

Lots of hugs with Dad!

I love these happy faces!

My crew!

Just giggling!

They do love each other! Best buds some days!

My buddy!

My ballerina!

Holding her baby. She can't wait to hug her little brother or sister!

Gift for Dad's Retirement

Here is what we gave dad for his retirement. They both turned out so nice...My sisters and I put these together and gave them to him on Saturday.

The brag book we made.

We framed this image for him of the kids!

Stitches: The visual evidence

So this was the "bloody scalpel" as I like to call it now. The instrument I was using when the cut occured.

Here is the bloddy trail to go get a towel...lots of drops on our basement floor.

This was the picture I was cutting....too bad I had to go make another print. We gave this to my dad at his retirement party.

And here are my 3 stitches.

What I did for my birthday!

So.....I bet you all can't wait to hear what I did for my birthday.....

Not what you all would expect. I stabbed myself in the hand with an exacto knife and went to Urgent Care to get 3 stitches! What a knucklehead!!!

I'm fine...no worries...just a little embarrassed mostly!! Guess that is why I earned the nickname Klutz as a kid!

To add to the story...we're sitting in the waiting room of urgent care and Jonathan asks me why I have a bandaid on my thumb (same aread as where I stabbed myself). He asked if I cut that too....I said no, that was from earlier today when I was cutting potatos. :) So I took that bandaid off before we saw the doctor.

After the Urgent Care we got home and Jon let me out on the driveway before he parked in the garage...I can't quite fit between the cars very easily with a big belly! So as I'm getting out he tells me...."Now don't fall on the ice!" I laugh and say "I'm not going to fall!" Well....I did not fall but I did a nice graceful slide and almost fell flat on the ice! Wouldn't that have been fun to turn around and head back to the hospital to be monitored for falling.....

So as you can tell overall it was a very clumbsy day!

Jon's taken all the knifes away from me too! Just in case you were wondering. I have some pictures to post soon!
