Last week we had an open house to meet her teacher and tour the school..and of course have ice cream! Madi didn't say too much the whole time and of course would not answer anything she was asked. They even asked her to find her name on her chair and she never could...but I think she was just nervous. I was nervous! But I wasn't too worried because when we asked her if she wanted to go back in an take a picture of her with her teacher she was all grins. Then she even smiled for the picture...if you know Madi..that's not an easy thing to coax her to do. So that told me she was really excited and like her new teacher. Which by the way..we do too! She is so great already.

Here we are today getting ready to take Madi to school. They have it set up for the parents to take the kids for just 1 hour on the first day and thats it. So after the hour we took her home and thursday will be her first full day and first time on the bus.
So Jon took some time off work and we took her together for her first day. She loved it.

They started the day with a book...
At the end of the hour they took the kids on a tour and the teacher just talked to all the parents about what to expect and different things about the class. We were about done and we hear this crying from the hallway...it was Madi and two other boys...very upset. They were out on the playground and 3 kids got stung by bees...Madi got 2 stings...what a way to start. She's okay...as you can tell from the pictures she didn't swell too much...just sore. Lets just say I don't think she'll forget her first day of school! It was so sweet though...her teacher called just a little while ago to see how she was doing...so nice!
After school - Sage - a neighbor in Madi's class came over to play. We thought it might be good to introduce the girls a little more since they'll be riding the bus together a lot..they got a long great. Madi lined up the chairs for the picture! It was cute! So thats how our first day went! We'll see how I fair when the bus pulls away on Thursday!

how exciting - the first day!! glad she enjoyed it, but sorry about the stings! sky got stung on his eyelid a few weeks ago and it was so sad :(

Poor girl. She got stung on her first day of school? What are the chances? I'm glad everything else went well. See you guys on Sunday!
